Welcome to a most ordinary irregular event. We (Duchess Siobhan, Duke Sven, Mistress Silwa, Mistress Unna, Baron Einar Helsingr and Mistress Alma) realized that we would like to spend more time together with all of you, our SCA friends in Drachenwald and the Known World. How could this be arranged? On a 12 hour long tour to Skellitta, the bards inspired us to host an event to make this easier. The song that inspired us will remain our secret for a little while longer, but if you would like to prepare for the Feast, bring a lot of feast gear… This is not a coronation, not a university, not an inauguration, nor a serious event. It is however a feast among friends, celebrating the coming of spring, various birthdays and the joy of the SCA.
Sponsoring the event is the Barony of Styringheim. This being the first event in West Styringheim, aka Swedish mainland since Baron Cormac claimed Styringheim for himself. We are proud to welcome you all to the famous landscape that has been seen in Ronja Rövardotter (the Swedish medieval film from the 1980s with Helvetesgapet, Björngrottan etcetera). This being the lands of Highway Robberies, we encourage each and all to bring something as a ransom.
On site we have access to 200 beds, saunas, castle-in-the-making, courtrooms and plenty of indoor and outdoor areas.
During the event, there is plenty of space to do A&S and there will be martial activities.

TO BRING:
Accommodations are in rooms with bunk beds, comforter and pillow is included, bring sheet, ”påslakan”, and pillowcase.
We are allowed to use real candles in the feast hall.
Time is set aside for a pot-luck fika. We will provide coffee and tea, bring ”fikabröd” that you can share if you want to.

Since our site have beds in 1-4 person rooms the prices are higher than most events in Nordmark, we hope you find that acceptable.

Note that the age groups are asymmetric since we have to pay half price for beds for children.
If cancelling more than 7 days before the event (latest on 2024-02-23), then a refund will be issued, if cancelling later, then we cannot do that.
Travel instructions
Stora Strands conference center https://storastrand.se/ is situated by the lake Ärr in Dalsland. Europe road 45 is the closest major road. Driving a buss to Stora Strand works well, the last 9 km is a gravel road.
Nearest gas station and marker is Statoil in Tösse. If you arrive from the north, you will pass the gas station. If you arrive from the south, then you have gone too far if you pass the gas station.

Buss eller tåg? Skjuts från Åmål tågstation!
Om du kommer med kollektivtrafik vill bli upphämtad av någon är det Åmåls tågstation som gäller. Vi har viss möjlighet att hämta och lämna men för vår planerings skull behöver vi veta när du kommer / när du reser iväg.

Vägbeskrivning från Circle-K macken i Tösse till sajten Stora strand.
OBS följ inte GPS:en helt den sista biten (se bilder nedan). GPS:en kommer vilja skicka in er på privat väg där ni absolut INTE ska svänga in!
Det går att köra på flera vägar men dessa innebär längre sträcka på grusväg och rekommenderas ej på grund av väglaget! För bästa väg till Stora Strand, följ beskrivningen nedan
- Vid Circle-K macken i Tösse följ skyltar mot Dals Långed/Fengersfors/Baldersnäs (GPS stämmer!).
- Sväng vänster vid Sandbol (4 km) och kör igenom Sandbol (GPS stämmer!).
- Ignorera sedan den första svängen till höger där GPS:en vill skicka in er på privat väg (se bild på gult hus och skylt)!
- Fortsätt istället rakt fram och sväng till höger vid skylt Snäcke (gps stämmer igen!)
- Följ sedan skyltar mot Stora Strand, GPS eller SCA-skyltar!
Väglag
I början av mars kan det vara allt från snöstorm med ett x antal minus till vårväder med ganska rejäla temperaturväxlingar så vi vill därför varna för isbanor och/eller tjällossning, hål och annat, den sista biten på färden.
Sista kilometrarna är vägen smal och svänger en hel del så kör försiktigt när ni svängt in på grusvägen, speciellt om ni inte har dubbdäck!
Det kan också vara en hel del trafik på E45 då det är sportlov och många reser till och från fjällen i Värmland/Dalarna.
